Health insurance:

A good health insurance is an important issue that should not be forgotten if you plan a longer stay in Paraguay. The state health care system is not comparable with the European insurance coverage, so we recommend you to have a private insurance to be on the safe side in case of illness or an accident. In Paraguay, there are various private health insurance provider, with different benefits and different tariffs.

A basic insurance for one person amounts to approximately 200.000 Guarani. This insurance does not include comfort at the highest level, which would cost approximately 400 000 Guarani. We are glad to advise you on the spot about your different options here in Paraguay. We also offer to visit together with you the hospitals and laboratories that in the moment of illness you immediately know the right address to ask for help.
